E’ notte fonda e sono a Londra. Non basta il pensiero di un trasloco affrettato, ne’ la voglia di dormire, ne’ la gastrite da ansia da prestazione per domattina.

Negli ultimi due mesi ho ripreso ad andare per concerti. Ho scoperto e ballato Four Tet, ho messo da parte – probabilmente per sempre - i Caribou, ho assorbito l’energia pulita di Ani Di Franco. Ma non bastano a farmi passare per un attimo di mente la voce e la presenza di John Grant di domenica scorsa a St Andrew’s in the Square. E’ qui.

Quasi tutti sanno che per sopravvivere alle pause pranzo all’estero e’ necessario industrarsi con una bella sfilza di Tupperware e portarsi, con regolarita’, la pasta con la pummarola o il minestrone da casa.

Torno al Nord con le mie consuete buone intenzioni, un paio di capelli bianchi in più – ma ben nascosti, e lo sguardo puntato a Sud.

La luce di Glasgow mi accoglie abbagliante, e i sorrisi delle persone sono un porto rassicurante a cui attracco senza esitare.

Mi sono sentita come Dante attraversando tutti i luoghi dell’animo umano finora conosciuti. E – come Michael J. Fox in Ritorno al Futuro – ho riportato le lancette al loro posto per amore della vita.
